Drive wheels are used to drive appliances and equipment. They use the force generated by a motor within the appliance to get it moving. One area where they are currently used is in the drum systems of wind turbines. Blickle has developed a heavy duty drive roller for the wind power industry. Drive wheels use a hub keyway and key to connect the wheel to the axle. This connection is also used for hub fitting wheels. The Blickle standard range also includes basic wheels with a Vulkollan tread. These wheels have a steel wheel centre with a hole which can be tailored to specific requirements.
1. Drive wheels : GEVN, GTHN, GSTN, GBN, GVUN and SPKVSN series drive wheels Blickle has six different drive wheels series available. Most of the wheel centres are made from rugged grey cast iron with a DIN 6885 compliant hub keyway. The drive wheels are available with either an elastic solid rubber tread in drive quality or the polyurethane treads Blickle Extrathane®, Blickle Softhane®, Blickle Besthane® or Vulkollan®. Blickle provides drive wheels in a variety of different sizes. The standard range includes wheels with a diameter ranging between 75 and 1000 mm. These can handle loads of up to 25,000 kg. In addition to providing a high load capacity, the wheels can also be used at higher speeds.
2. Hub fitting wheels : PA, VLEA, GEVA, GSTA, GBA series hub fitting wheels The Blickle standard range includes five series of hub fitting wheels. The wheel centres are made from pressed steel or grey cast iron. The treads are made from the polyurethanes Softhane® and Besthane® or rubber. Depending on the wheel series, the tread / tyre is firmly cast, pressed-on or vulcanised to the wheel centre or fitted to the pressed steel rim. The hub fitting wheel series are available in sizes between 200 and 620 mm in diameter. Depending on the series, the wheels can transport loads up to 4,500 kilogrammes. They are also suitable for use at higher speeds.
3. Ground wheels : VSVU series ground wheels The natural colour tread in the VSVU basic wheel series is cast onto a steel wheel centre with a hole. This tread is made of the high-quality polyurethane-elastomer Vulkollan® with a hardness of 92 Shore A. The wheel centre of the VSVU wheel series is easy to machine individually, allowing it to be tailored to specific requirements. The GVU series can be used as a running wheel. Wheels in the VSVU series are available in sizes 125 to 300 mm and have a hole in the wheel centre.
• Hub fitting wheels are also used to drive machinery and vehicles. • The SPKVSN series is the only series with a wheel centre made from mild steel. • The flanged drive wheel, which is completely made from mild steel. • The drive wheels are connected to the motor of an industrial truck with a hub keyway. This helps them to get equipment in motion, move machine parts or rotate components on the spot. • GEVN, GTHN, GSTN, GBN, GVUN and SPKVSN series drive wheels can also be used at higher speeds. • The PA series in hub fitting wheels offers pneumatic tyres in the form of a hub fitting wheel, which provides outstanding floor surface preservation. • Hub fitting wheels are mainly used on industrial trucks and driverless transport systems .They are also used for a variety of mechanical and systems engineering applications. • The PA and VLEA series in hub fitting wheels are suitable for use at speeds of up to 25 km/h. • The tread in VSVU wheel series has a high dynamic load capacity and can be used at speeds up to 16 km/h. It also provides high cut and tear propagation resistance.
